Queer Family Portraits is a Minneapolis based studio that offers families of all types a safe and welcoming environment to document the many stages of life. As families grow and evolve, we are here to support the ways everyone deserves to be seen as they are. Queer family portraits has stemmed from our sister company, Rivets and Roses which specializes in LGBTQ+ weddings. We recognized that our community was missing an important aspect of photography services beyond just couples.

Queer Family Portraits is co-founded by Mel Hesse (they/them) and Eliesa Johnson (she/her). Our diverse team is dedicated to working with anyone who is involved or allies with the LGBTQ+ community. We believe every family member should feel valued and seen for who they are today.
